About Birmingham Runner

The Birmingham Runners Shop has been providing runners in the Midlands with top quality running shoes and clothing since 1983. It is genuinely regarded as the Midlands No. 1 Running Specialist catering for all types of runners. It is highly recommended by many professionals in Sports Physiotherapy and Personal Training for its renowned expertise in Running Gait Analysis

For the past 15 years the shop has been owned and run by Dave Ireland, a former PE Teacher and rugby player with Leicester Tigers who has always been a keen runner competing with Peterborough AC in the 70s, Wye Valley Road Runners early 80s and since 1985 has been a member of Sparkhill Harriers in Birmingham. Dave has a PB of 2hours 45min for the marathon.

All of the staff are keen sportsmen actively involved in running, rugby, football or personal fitness. The manager Rob Witheridge is a keen gym enthusiast with extensive knowledge of gait analysis and footstrike. Adam Willis is our specialist in biomechanics, sports nutrition and personal fitness. He is also a county standard rugby player and currently plays for Camp Hill Rugby Club.
